FloatingRoot and the Wild Rose
In 2018 I happened upon the wild rose that bloomed along the sands of the Salish Sea. This began a 4 year love affair with this specific rose. It’s medicine and use is tied to the first people’s who lived and thrived along these magical waters filled with orcas, kelp forests, and ancient trees. Our Nootka Wild Rose collection is inspired by the tales of “The Daughters of Copper Woman.” Each drinking vessel is handmade and unique, imprinted with the leaves, fruit, and other materials found where the wild rose grows. The porcelain and clay used is sprinkled with the sand in which the rose grows. The collection includes all of the medicine made from the 2021 harvest. Custom drinking vessels are only available with the collection. In the sharing of this plant communication, FloatingRoot wishes to share full spectrum plant medicine which communicates through all the senses. The medicinal qualities can be experienced through its simply beauty, it’s aroma, in tea, or dropped on the tongue. It’s nutritive qualities are best taken multiple times a day.

Our Story
Deep in a hypnotism of the sand and clay dunes, I smelled the call of the Nootka Wild Rose. The scent being carried out to sea, over the winded tide. I saw her fluorescent pink scales fluttering in the wind, with the full sun shining, speckled in her belly. The electricity pulsing through the silky petals made my skin stand on edge, while soothing a jagged depleted heart. In her delicacy was a protection I have yet to experience, and the wild rose began to teach that graceful dance. That late summer I began collecting small amounts of petals and leaves, and visiting the rose every few days. Soon the rose hips swelled and the fruit the size of chestnuts began to ripen. After two years of sitting with the wild rose in all her seasons, I began to forage with the intent of being able to share her full spectrum magic.
Over the years of 2020, 2021,2022 I slowly collected, dried, and ground to create our wild foraged medicinals. Petals crystallized in organic local raw honey,hips seeded, dried, and ground for tea, petals dried and ground to rose dust, and the flower mixed with alcohol and honey to deduct into an elixir.
As this plant medicine grows in paradise, accompanied by the rising tides and fragrant sea, capturing the environment in which these creatures thrive, inspired a sipping vessel that comes with each full collection. Utilizing nature’s design, the seashells washing up at the roots, have been recreated from sand and clay. Each cup is hand molded, painted, and decorated with imprints of the wild plant.
Delivery & Returns
We deliver worldwide, but please consider that we cannot control tracking and customs once the packages leaves the United States.
Due to the current shipping delays and virus, we are not excepting returns of any items. We will of course address if something arrives broken or damaged. If that is the case please provide clear photos and details of what is wrong. We are shipping very wild and fragile items that only utilize reusable containers and recyclable packaging.
